Work in Progress
I have now lived on Dartmoor since 2017 beside an ancient trackway - with huge old trees, granite boulders, a river - immersed in nature. At first my paints and brushes sat in boxes, packed up waiting until I created a new studio - except for a stack of sketchpads crammed full of small paintings collected from my walks. The transformation in my life has been amazing - the intrigue of the moor, the adventure, the discovery - my walks and roaming on the land have changed - It's wilder, the colours are different, there are secret places to investigate.
I am not merely an observer of the natural world but feel very much a part of it. We are all going along together expressing ourselves in our own particular way - this inspires me every day - it brings me to the point of attempting to express that joy through mark making and painting.
Visits to my studio in Gidleigh are always welcome by appointment - please phone (01647) 432697
